About Darrell Reese

Courage.

The thing that it takes to reach out to someone and ask for help can only be described as courage. Reaching out to someone alone can be the very first step towards making great changes in your life.

I would be ecstatic to be chosen as your guide along this journey.

Should you choose to travel along this road, then here is what working with me is like.

Many people are apprehensive about therapy due to thinking it will take years to truly get to know one another before diving into what’s important.

That’s not how I view the therapeutic process.

My goal with the very first session is to have you leaving with something you feel you can use right away.

With your assistance, we will dive right in and begin dealing with the big things that are troubling your relationship the most.

In assisting you with the most stressful aspects of your relationship, you can begin to gain new clarity on your married or dating life and be free to be happy with one another once again.

We won’t just stop there. We then work on what your strengths are as a couple and how those strengths can be used to rebuild your relationship in a form desired by both of you.

The better you feel about your relationship, the more you make overtures towards spending more time together and looking to enjoy each other again.

It all begins with making that initial move to ask for help.

What exactly is entailed in this process?

First, we’ll start with our consultation call to determine if we’re a good fit for this journey. I will ask questions about why you’re seeking therapy at this time, what are the problems you see in the relationship, and what are your goals for therapy.

Next, we will have our first session, in which we will go in depth into what you and your partner feel are causing the disconnect in your relationship. I will ask questions about what is causing you problems right now, as well as dive into past events that could play a major role in your discord as well.

You may have some insight into why these problems have arrived, but we will work together to figure out what was the exact cause of the problems you two are facing today.

The process of finding out where things come from alone can be exhilarating as you can discover new ways to interpret how and why you both do what you do.

Once we have a handle on what is causing your problems, then we can begin to dissolve the issues through conversations we have to gain better control of your thoughts and actions.

Be prepared! This process does take hard work.

Is it worth it? A thousand times yes, this can be one of the best investments you have ever made.

What methods do I use to help you make the transformation happen?

I work using several modalities. In session we may use Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Collaborative Language Systems, and The Gottman Method predominantly. These methods have proven to be effective in dealing with issues that arise within relationships.

My priority is to get your relationship feeling whole again as soon as possible.

Is now the right time for therapy?

Ask yourself one question. Are you ready for change in your relationship?

Remember we’re most likely not talking about small changes because if they were it’s unlikely you would be seeking therapy.

So, if you have had enough of the way things are I’m ready to help you begin the journey towards the change you seek.

About Me

What brought me to doing therapy....

The beginning of my journey is not dissimilar to what you may be feeling now. I had a problem that needed to be solved.

I wasn’t completely fulfilled in my career at the time. My career choices had always been surrounding helping people but mostly in groups where I didn’t feel those I was helping were getting the full efficacy of what I was doing due to not being able to get one on one assistance.

I already knew a few therapists, my wife included, and it just felt like that was a path that allowed me to simply focus on the person in front of me without having to deal with any other distractions.

Since that time, I have worked nonstop to get my clients the results they deserve in dealing with whatever life throws at them.
